U16 Nike Players Head to South Africa
This November, Amy Gargala, Stephanie Deines and Jenna Hartley will be taking part in the upcoming mission trip to Durban, South Africa through the REACH organization. All three of these girls play for the Rush Pikes Peak U16 Nike team. The trip that they will embark on aims to bring over large amounts of soccer equipment to the young African children who love the game but have never put on a uniform before. A soccer tournament and camp will be orchestrated by this trip in hopes to one day create a Rush club in Durban, South Africa. Furthermore, food will be distributed as well as gifts to the inhabitants of the orphanage the trip is will serve. The girls that will be going from Pikes Peak Rush are highly involved, as well as dedicated to their school work and this dedication will then be channeled toward assisting the orphan children that live in the slum area this trip will be traveling to. This mission trip entails a great deal of hard work, time and effort as well lengthy travel, that will be compensated by the immense gratifying sensation derived from changing the lives of the African children that will be impacted by this trip.
